The Catholic McAuley Community School caters for up to 560 students from Early Learning (6 months of age) to Year 6, across an expansive 14,000m2 site.
Under a very tight construction program this project comprised of substantial demolition works, construction of three two-storey education buildings and an early learning fitout with innovative designs to enable flexible learning and teaching spaces. The high-level finishes included customised joinery, wall panelling, detailed ceilings and many radiuses walls with fine details.
Detailed landscaping and play areas link ways make the site open and inviting.
The school committed to enrolments commencing 2020. A staged approval was implemented and final development approval was granted early in May 19. The build was accelerated, with a tightly managed program incorporating all the mentioned works. A staged hand over was required, to allow the school to obtain their certifications, adding to the program challenge.
With 130+ trades on site each day at its peak, the well-coordinated project was managed with zero loss time or medical time injuries.The project was delivered by all with understanding, pride, ownership and honesty. The project team worked collaboratively to achieve a spectacular result for the College with all project milestones met.
