The new St Francis of Assisi College based in Renmark provides an innovative learning facility for the future generations of students and staff in the South Australian Riverland community.
This significant project for Catholic Education South Australia was designed to create an educational path which promotes learning in a world beyond the classroom.
Delivered over 3 phases the stage 1 works included new facilities for; administration, 7-9 learning, specialty learning, design technology, and site facilities including; canopies for outdoor learning, sports oval, sheds and bike storage, carparking and extensive landscaping spread over a 33,122m2 site.
Informal flexible learning spaces combined with the integration of the latest digital technology cater for the wide range of programs delivered by the college. The bold and dynamic expression of colour and feature timber battens along with strip lighting used throughout the internal spaces adds a bright yet elegant feel to the architectural form.
The external facades comprise of a modern blend of feature bricks, compressed fibre cement sheets, and profiled sheet metal cladding along with high windows to create an abundance of natural light.
The scope of works also involved a number of modern site facilities including aluminium skillion roof forum canopies with all-weather louvered roofing and outdoor shelters. Furthermore a 1,025m2 Covered Outdoor Learning Area was constructed with a portal frame steel structure and colorbond roof cladding, along with a secure store and sports store area.
The success of this project and its delivery in just 11 months is a true testament to the entire project team. We were thrilled for the opportunity and we look forward to seeing the endless opportunities in which this college brings for the students, staff and entire Riverland community.
